The Children’s Diabetes Foundation is returning with its 47th annual Brass Ring luncheon and fashion show on March 6.
The annual event will be hosted at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel and benefits the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes. The event will be hosted by CBS Colorado news anchor Michael Spencer, and will honor longtime volunteer Judy McNeil, with the inaugural T1D Changemaker Award.
McNeil has supported the Children’s Diabetes Foundation at the Barbara Davis Center for more than 25 years. She’s served as the guild president and historian and was honored in 2011 with the High Hopes Award at the Carousel Ball alongside her husband. She was also recognized as a 2023 Humanitarian Award Honoree by Volunteers of America.

The fashion show will be helmed by designer Marc Bouwer and will feature patients and clinicians on the runway. The event will also feature a “Heroes Walk,” with patients with Type 1 diabetes taking the stage to honor the late Dr. Robert Slover, who served as the director of the Barbara Davis Center Pediatric Clinic until he passed away in 2022.
In previous years, fashion brands and designers like Club Monaco, Lafayette 148 New York, Rebecca Minkoff and BCBGMaxAzria, among others, have participated in the annual event.
During the luncheon, guests can participate in a luxury auction that offers items like a 14-karat white gold diamond pendant, a stay at the Teton Mountain Lodge & Spa or a meet and greet with singer Barry Manilow.
