Vanessa Kirby went back into the modern archives for her looks at “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” trailer launch on Tuesday in Huntsville, Ala. The Oscar-nominated actress joined costars Pedro Pascal, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Joseph Quinn for the event.
Kirby opted for a structural dress with standout elements courtesy of Atelier Versace‘s spring 2016 couture collection. The dress featured a racer neckline and skin-baring elements, including exposed boning on the bodice.
The skirt included colorblocking in black and an electric blue shade. Kirby’s dress was the standout piece of her attire for the day, and as such, she opted to go with few accessories with her look. She completed the ensemble with a pair of pointed-toe heels.
As for her glam, Kirby kept it simple. Her sleek, silver-blond hair was styled with a middle part and worn down in soft, flowing waves. Kirby’s makeup included bold brows, a hint of a smoky eye and a subtle lip to tie the entire look together.
Kirby’s dress made its runway debut during Paris Fashion Week in January 2016. “Dubbed ‘athletic couture,’ [the spring 2016 collection] was built on racer necklines, flashes of neon, bits of mountain-climbing hardware and yards and yards of Swarovski crystal rope, some colored to resemble sport laces,” Miles Socha wrote in WWD’s review of the collection.
Among the trends in the collection, Socha noted how “almost every dress hugged the body as tightly as sport leggings. Some were little more than tulle sheaths with swirling rows of sequins worn over brightly colored bodysuits.”
“The Fantastic Four: First Steps” follows four superheroes as they defend the world from a cruel space god named Galactus and his minion, Silver Surfer. The film is expected to hit theaters July 25.
