Cars require so much work to maintain. Sometimes it’s fun, sometimes it’s rewarding, but sometimes actually doing all that work is just a slog — the kind of slog that gets put off again, and again, and again. Today, we ask: What automotive maintenance item are you ignoring right now?
Maybe it’s your brakes, the ones that are just starting to squeal but you know the caliper bolts are going to be rusted and seized. Maybe it’s that finicky hood latch that’s frustrating, but so infrequently used that you always forget about it before you get around to replacing it. Maybe, given it’s January, you swapped your snow tires on but never bothered to re-code the TPMS, and your dash is blaring a tire pressure warning at you when you know everything’s fine.
All these count. Any maintenance item you’re deferring, any issue you can’t be bothered to solve right now, anything that woks right if you jiggle it in just the right way. You could call these character, or you could call them things on your car that are broken.
