Kenzo is Uncoupling its Fall 2025 Fashion Shows, and Beefing up Women’s

HIS AND HERS: Going against the coed grain for one season, Kenzo‘s show on Jan. 24 during men’s fashion week in Paris will be dedicated to its men’s fall202 5 collection, WWD has learned.

The women’s fall 2025 collection will get its own showcase during Paris Fashion Week, which is scheduled for March 3 to 11.

Disclosing the development exclusively to WWD, Kenzo hinted at an intensified focus on its womenswear.

“This decision follows three years of creative growth under the artistic director Nigo, who has laid a solid foundation for Kenzo’s menswear,” the house said in a statement. “With the men’s wardrobe now firmly established and evolving with a strong and cohesive identity, the house is now looking forward to taking Kenzo women in a bold new direction, showcasing designs that build on the house’s legacy while embracing a dynamic and modern perspective.”

To wit: The house has “welcomed a new womenswear creative team under the leadership of a recently appointed design director working closely with creative director Nigo. Their vision and expertise will contribute to the continued creative growth of the brand.”

The new design director is Joshua A. Bullen, who was previously a design director for ready-to-wear at Givenchy.

Kenzo noted it would return to a coed format for the spring 2026 show next June.

In its review of Kenzo’s spring 2025 show, WWD suggested Nigo “further hone his vision for womenswear, not yet as sharp as it is for menswear.”

Perhaps best known as the founder of A Bathing Ape and a streetwear pioneer in Japan, Nigo assumed the creative helm of Kenzo in September 2021.

At the time of his appointment, he lauded house founder Kenzo Takada’s “approach to creating originality was through his understanding of many cultures. It is also the essence of my own philosophy of creativity.”
