Jessica Chastain Does Slow Fashion in Cortana Top & Pants for ‘Wicked’

Jessica Chastain lent her services in the “Wicked” promotional tour on Saturday. The actress, who was recently on Broadway, moderated a Q&A with “Wicked” star Cynthia Erivo at the Crosby Hotel in New York City.

For the appearance, Chastain opted for a beige top and trouser set. The hemp and viscose look is from Cortana’s resort 2025 collection. It includes an off-the shoulder draped top, which features a zipper at the side and three-quarter French sleeves as well as wide legged trousers. The high-waisted pants also feature a drape detail, gathering at one side. Underneath the top, Chastain wore a sheer silk tulle turtleneck. The outfit was styled by Elizabeth Stewart, who also works with the likes of Cate Blanchett, Julia Roberts and Viola Davis.

The neutral color palette allowed Chastain’s fiery hair, which DJ Quintero put in curls, stand out. She wore pink lipstick, eye shadow and large round glasses. Kristofer Buckle was her makeup artist for the night.

Cortana was founded in 2001 and creates “slow fashion” crafted from natural fabrics. The company spans a bridal line and is locally produced in limited batches under the purview of designer Rosa Esteva. While the business is largely womenswear, some of the resort 2025 range spans unisex designs.

It’s a busy time for Chastain. At the American Cinamatheque Awards earlier this month, the Oscar winner chose a high-neck Gucci gown covered in crystal embellishments. She upped the glitz on that look with diamond Damiani jewelry like ear cuffs and a wraparound bracelet. Before that, she went to Oscar de la Renta for another black crystal embroidered look. That number, for the opening of “Sunset Blvd,” was made of tulle.

Earlier this year, the actress was named a global ambassador for Damiani — it coincided with the company’s 100 year celebration. Her first campaign for the company was released in July.
