VideoRay, a global leader in underwater robotic systems, today announced that it has been acquired by BlueHalo, a defense technology company that brings to market next-generation capabilities to support customers’ critical missions and national security.
Founded in 2019, BlueHalo provides industry-leading capabilities in several key mission areas: Space Technologies, Counter-Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (cUAS), Directed Energy, Electronic Warfare, Cyber, and Artificial Intelligence.
VideoRay now adds a critical new domain to BlueHalo’s technology solutions – Unmanned Maritime.
“BlueHalo was created to be a protective ring around everything we care about most – and the maritime domain is an increasingly critical area for the U.S. and allied navies and coast guards,” said Chris Gibson, chief executive officer of VideoRay. “VideoRay complements BlueHalo’s innovative solutions in the ever-evolving battlefield.”
Since its founding in 2019, BlueHalo has achieved some notable milestones that demonstrate its leadership in advanced defense technology. Highlights include:
- Pioneering Directed Energy Solutions: Successfully fielding its LOCUST Laser Weapon System (LWS), making it the first to achieve this capability.
- Transforming Space Operations: Securing a multi-billion-dollar contract with the U.S. Space Force for the BADGER adaptive phased array system, a revolutionary platform reshaping space operations.
- Leading in Counter-UAS Technology: Delivering its 1,000th Titan and Titan-SV system last year, cementing its role as a leader in Radio Frequency Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (RF C-UAS).
By prioritizing cutting-edge research and development, BlueHalo continues to create transformative products and services that redefine the future of global defense.
VideoRay’s Defender and Mission Specialist unmanned underwater vehicles set the performance standard for the most challenging and mission-critical applications including mine countermeasures. With the backing of BlueHalo, the advancement of these products and other Mission Specialist vehicles under development will accelerate to address both defense and commercial applications. VideoRay’s commitment to customer support and success will continue, and our ability to respond rapidly – anywhere in the world – will be greatly enhanced.
“VideoRay’s commitment to offering a wide comprehensive range of options for our global customers and partners will further expand under BlueHalo,” continues Gibson. “Our open architecture enables us to support an extensive array of sensors and accessories, empowering our customers to select the ideal solutions for their agencies, organizations, and missions. This dedication remains, and we anticipate that the expected increase in vehicle sales will yield positive outcomes for our global dealers, technology partners, and valued suppliers”
