It’s been a rough few weeks lately in the F1 world, what with the series taking a hiatus ahead of the Las Vegas/Qatar/Abu Dhabi triple-header to end the 2024 season. With festivities kicking off in Las Vegas shortly for the second Grand Prix of a three-year contract in the city, Alpine has given everyone something to cheer about by unveiling a return to its all-pink livery. The Alpink is back, baby, and I could not be more excited.

With the team showing surprising strength in Brazil a couple of weeks ago and scoring its first double-podium, there’s a lot of excitement around the Alpine garage right now. It’s fitting to return to the pink BWT livery for these last three races, and it feels a little like a celebration. The team’s previous best finish in 2024 had been ninth, and the Brazilian Grand Prix result vaulted the French squad from ninth in the constructors’ championship to sixth!

It’s pretty fitting that Alpine’s new color shift was announced with dark photos under the flashing lights of a neon sign, because the Las Vegas Grand Prix will be a dark and cold one this weekend. The overnight low on Sunday is currently forecast to be 46 degrees Fahrenheit, which should be pretty damn cold for the open-cockpit drivers. Here’s hoping that the pink of their cheeks won’t be quite as bright as the pink of their cars.

Alpine is no stranger to special liveries in 2024, as the team ran a sponsored “Deadpool & Wolverine” scheme for the Belgian Grand Prix and pushed an orange-colored Indiana Jones–themed livery during the United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas back in October.

I, for one, like the pink and believe it should continue on with the car through the 2025 season. More pink race cars, please.
