Kate Beckinsale Pops in Pink Puffball Dress at Variety Power of Women 2024

Kate Beckinsale made an impression on the red carpet for Variety’s Power of Women event with a voluminous take on the balletcore trend.

The “Canary Black” star put an emphasis on pink in a Christian Siriano dress from the designer’s spring 2024 collection featuring a satin corset bodice with visible lacing. The strapless design culminated in two distinct points at the top of the bodice. The theatrical, puffball-style skirt added volume to the sides and back while leaving the front open.

Working with Gabriella Claire Morpeth, Beckinsale completed her styling of the whimsical look with towering pink platform peep-toe Pleaser shoes featuring an ankle strap and a blooming pink flower on the vamp. She also wore a large floral ring, studded with diamonds as well as ornate silver earrings.

Makeup artist Vittorio Massechia maintained the pink theme with a glossy nude lip, pink blush and eye shadow. Hair stylist Aaron Light styled her hair in a ponytail, flipping the ends and securing her signature headband with a tight bow at the back.

Christian Siriano’s spring 2024 collection marked the 15th anniversary of the brand. For this milestone, the designer drew inspiration from ballet. “It’s what introduced me to clothes and fantasy dream world,” he told WWD at the time.

Balletcore emerged as a leading trend in 2023 and continued into early 2024, having first gained popularity on TikTok in 2022. It has reemerged once again, with brands like Ludovic de Saint Sernin, Ferragamo and Alainpaul all putting their own twist on the trend in their spring 2025 collections.

“Balletcore is emerging as a spring 2025 runway trend, as seen at the tutu-fabulous Simone Rocha show in London, the ribbon-laced shoes and dance rehearsal clothes at Ferragamo in Milan, and in the lightness and stretchiness of the Alaïa collection in New York,” Booth Moore wrote for WWD during the show season.
