Charles Barkley had an existential crisis when his ‘Inside the NBA’ cohosts made up a song

It’s not like we needed any more reasons to love Inside the NBA, but the gang is back and going completely off the rails in what could be their final season.

On Thursday night Ernie , Shaq, and Kenny invented their own percussive song during halftime of Thunder vs. Nuggets. Chuck really didn’t care for any of it — staring off into the distance imagining another world he could be in, any world where he didn’t need to listen to his cohosts playing this.

The gang, clearly very proud of themselves, got applause from the crew when they finished — but Chuck was there to be their harshest critic:

“That wasn’t good. Stop lying.”

Apparently we didn’t even get the best version of this song, because as Kenny mentioned they had a take that was “better during the break.” The best part of this revelation is that the gang were working on this song for a significant amount of time, and Barkley was stuck in hell, hoping it would all be over.

It’s weird moments like this that makes Inside the NBA the best studio show in sports. We don’t know what the future holds with Warner Bros. losing the rights to the NBA after this season, but this crew is just too good to break up.
