Congrats, Amazon Prime members. You just got a new perk that could end up saving you dozens of dollars a year at the gas pump. Amazon linked up with BP, Amoco and AMPM/Arco, creating a program that’ll save drivers 10 cents per gallon whenever they fuel up at about 7,000 participating stations.

Amazon says it’ll save customers about $70 per year, which works out to about half of the $139 a Prime membership costs every year. Not bad. To activate the offer, Prime members have to go to amazon.com/fuelsavings. From there, members need to add a free Earnify account with BP. Activating the offer will connect your Amazon account and Earnify account. The Earnify app has a store locator that’ll help customers find the nearest participating gas station.

To get the saving at the pump, customers need to input their phone number or linked payment method. If that isn’t your jam, you can always redeem at the pump with the Earnify app by selecting the gas station and pump being used.

The Verge does point out that by signing up, you’re agreeing to let BP collect information about you to get the discount. At this point, who isn’t collecting information about you? 10 cents is 10 cents. I need that money.

Anyway, Amazon also touted that in 2025 it plans to add an electric vehicle charging savings offer to folks who use BP Pulse, BP’s EV charging business. That’ll be nice when it rolls out as long as you ignore all of the unethical and climate-damaging shit BP does on a daily basis.

Just remember, 10 cents is 10 cents.
