Selena Gomez put an edgy spin on red carpet attire at the Los Angeles premiere of “Emilia Perez” on Monday.
The actress and singer sported an Elie Saab design from the label’s fall 2024 couture collection, which featured satin accents, an off-the-shoulder neckline and leather elbow-length gloves. Gomez completed her look with diamond-encrusted hoops.
Stylist Erin Walsh, who also dresses Anne Hathaway and Elizabeth Banks, curated Gomez’s look for the occasion.
Hairdresser Renato Campora styled Gomez’s dark tresses in a chignon, while makeup artist Hung Vanngo gave her a smokey eye, winged liner, rosy blush and a nude lip.
On Saturday, the “Only Murders in the Building” star attended the 2024 Academy Museum Gala in a navy suede Alaïa halter gown featuring an exposed leather bustier, adding on statement chrome bracelets and earrings by Tiffany & Co.
Several celebrities have tried out the peekaboo bralette layering trend this year, including Natalie Portman, Sydney Sweeney and Kristen Stewart, who revived the style after it had a major moment in 2023. Lingerie-inspired looks have dominated the catwalks of Miu Miu, Fendi and Elie Saab in recent seasons, leading to a proliferation of bra tops on the red carpet.
Earlier this month, Gomez’s makeup brand, Rare Beauty, partnered with Sephora for World Mental Health Day to raise money for its Rare Impact Fund, a charity that supports mental health services for young people. All of the proceeds from Rare Beauty sales at Sephora on Oct. 10 were donated to the Rare Impact Fund.
“The mental health crisis continues to impact young people disproportionately and partners like Sephora are instrumental, not only by believing in this mission, but by contributing crucial funds to expand mental health resources for the young people who need them,” Gomez said in a statement.
