Chris Godwin injury update: Buccaneers receiver injured late in 4th quarter

After losing receiver Mike Evans in the second quarter of Monday Night Football against the Ravens, the Buccaneers were dealt another terrible blow. Chris Godwin, who’s next on the depth chart, suffered what looked like a brutal leg injury late in the fourth quarter.

The full weight of Ravens linebacker came down on Godwin’s lower left leg. The injury was gruesome enough that Joe Buck said the broadcast team informed him and Troy Aikman that they would not be showing a replay of the injury.

Godwin screamed when the injury occurred and it was immediately obvious that he could not get up and that he was in intense pain. Bucs teammates and Ravens players prayed for Godwin and gathered around to show support as he was carted off the field. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Godwin was in an air cast.

We will update this post as more information becomes available.
