Anne Hathaway accessorized with Versace‘s newest handbag at the New York premiere of “The Apprentice” on Tuesday night. The upcoming film, in theaters Friday, follows Donald Trump’s rise to prominence in the 1970s and 1980s.
On the red carpet, Hathaway layered up in a black Versace coatdress from the label’s fall 2024 collection, which featured red accents and gold buttons emblazoned with the Italian house’s signature Medusa logo. A leather miniskirt and thigh-high boots topped off Hathaway’s ensemble, as well as a red Kleio flap bag with a chunky chain strap.
The actress wore her brunette tresses in natural waves with curtain bangs, while her makeup consisted of mauve blush and a matching glossy lip.
Hathaway currently works with stylist Erin Walsh, who also dresses stars like Selena Gomez and Elizabeth Banks.
The “Princess Diaries” star attended the premiere in support of her close friend, “Succession” actor Jeremy Strong, who plays lawyer Roy Cohn alongside Sebastian Stan’s Trump.
Versace debuted the Kleio shoulder bag on the runway at Milan Fashion Week earlier this year, with the label’s fall 2024 presentation prominently featuring shades of red and black. Versace revealed its first campaign featuring the plush leather crossbody in July, set at the exclusive Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles.
“The Chateau is the perfect place for the Versace clan to hang out,” said the brand’s artistic director, Donatella Versace, in a statement. “I love seeing our clothes in action on these amazing models, celebrating their different characters. You know they are having a great time. But like the Chateau, Versace keeps all their secrets.”
Thanks to labels like Versace, Balmain and Bottega Veneta, red has resurged as a major color trend for fall. Stars such as Selena Gomez, Florence Pugh and Reese Witherspoon have also modeled shades of scarlet at high-profile events including the Golden Globes and the Emmys.
