Gwen Walz opted for classic political style for the vice presidential debate between Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and United States Senator J.D. Vance. The debate was the first and only between the two vice presidential candidates, who faced off at the CBS Broadcast Center in New York City on Tuesday.
For the occasion, Gwen Walz opted for a coordinated skirt suit look in a shade of blue. The tweed set featured a pencil skirt and complementary jacket, with gold buttons running down the front placket and situated on the pockets as well. Walz coordinated with a flowing blouse in a similar tone.

Along with her skirt suit, Walz took a cue from Democratic presidential candidate and current Vice President Kamala Harris when it came to her accessories. Walz wore strings of pearl necklaces to accessorize her debate ensemble.
Following the debate, Walz joined her husband on stage alongside Vance and his wife, Usha Vance. Over the course of the last several weeks, as the country got to know the longtime school teacher, Gwen Walz’s style profile rose.

The Democratic National Convention last August provided the ideal opportunity for Walz to showcase her tailored, understated approach to style. While taking the stage with her family in Chicago’s United Center, Walz wore a Badgley Mischka crepe coat dress with a notched lapel collar, fitted bodice and V neckline, as well as pleats along the waistline and flared skirt.
For the final night of the DNC, Walz continued to wear the Democratic Party’s signature blue hue. She wore a navy blue in a midi dress courtesy of Carolina Herrera, which featured long sleeves and included delicate, feminine bow accents on the bodice.

Between appearances on the campaign trail and supporting her husband during major election cycle moments, Walz has demonstrated a style sensibility that favors classic, traditional pieces and understated embellishments.
