When the Ford Bronco was introduced, with its Sasquatch rock-crawling trim, we all thought the same thing: “Surely, this would be the perfect factory vehicle to steal if I knew I would have to drive over cop cars while escaping a Tim Hortons.” Wait, did you all not also think that?

Well, a thief in Canada certainly did. Police cornered a stolen Ford Bronco Sasquatch in a Tim Hortons drive-thru in Mississauga, Ontario, boxing the truck in with both a Charger and a Durango cruiser. Rather than give up the chase, however, the Bronco driver decided to simply see what those beadlock wheels could take — and attempted to drive over both cars on his way out.

The Bronco handily clambered over the Charger, with its lower hood height, and even managed to get one wheel up onto the Durango. The angle proved too much for even the Sasquatch package, however, and the thief ended up pulling the Ford back down off the cruisers.

Canadian authorities arrested the Bronco driver, but have not yet released information as to which GOAT mode the car was in when it attempted its ascent. I’m not going to say that it for sure would’ve made it over the two vehicles with the right combination of electronic modes and a good spotter, but judging by its relative success unassisted it may well have had a shot.

The Sasquatch pack on the Bronco may be a boon for folks looking to climb rocks, but it doesn’t turn your shiny new still-under-warranty Ford into Grave Digger. Car crawling should be attempted slowly and methodically in your factory-fresh vehicle, not wantonly under pressure of time. And arrest.
