Grammy winner Pink hit notes of inclusion on Thursday in Chicago on the final night of the 2024 Democratic National Convention. The singer, alongside her 12-year-old daughter Willow, performed an acoustic version of her hit song “What About Us” onstage with guitarist Justin Derrico.
The protest song, which debuted in 2017 during former president Donald Trump’s term in office, was inspired by unheard people who were left behind by the government.

The message of unity came with sartorial symbolism, too. She coordinated with her daughter in head-to-toe black outfits with metallic details. Pink chose a dress that featured a bustier-style bodice with cutouts around the bra cups and wide-leg trousers. The dress was had silver embellishments, including grommets, belt buckles and a zipper down the front. Meanwhile, Willow opted for a simple tee, trousers, a belt and platform boots.

Pink has previously worked with celebrity stylist Kim Bowen, who also counts Michaela Jaé Rodriguez among her clients.
The final night of the 2024 DNC marks Vice President Kamala Harris’ nomination by the Democratic party as their official nominee for President of the United States ahead of the November election.
Harris began her campaign last July, after President Joe Biden made the decision to suspend his re-election campaign.
Pink has been a longtime supporter of the Democratic party and its previous presidential nominees. In 2020, the recording artist showed her support for President Biden during his campaign against former President Donald Trump, who is also the Republican party’s 2024 nominee for the office.

The “So What” singer is also a champion of the LGBTQIA+ community and of women’s reproductive rights. Along with Pink, the other headlining musical performance of the night came from the country music band The Chicks.
The 2024 Democratic National Convention began on Monday and concluded on Thursday at United Center in Chicago. The 2024 DNC featured speeches from former President Barack Obama, President Joe Biden, New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Oprah, former First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama and more. Performers included John Legend, Mickey Guyton and Maren Morris, among others. Vice President Kamala Harris officially accepted her party’s nomination for President of the United States, and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz accepted the nomination for Vice President of the United States.
