The Postal Service have shared Sylvan Essoâs new remix of their 2003 Give Up cut âThe District Sleeps Alone Tonight.â The updated version arrives ahead of the Postal Serviceâs extended joint tour with Death Cab for Cutie, celebrating the anniversaries of Give Up and Transatlanticism. Check out the reworked track below.
ââThe District Sleeps Alone Tonightâ was a formative song for both of us,â Sylvan Esso revealed in a press release, adding that the duoâs Nick Sanborn first caught a promo version of the track âpooling out of his car speakers while he delivered pizza.â Amelia Randall Meath, meanwhile, was introduced to it âin the back of someoneâs van during her freshman lunch hour.â
Of the new remix, the Postal Serviceâs Jimmy Tamborello said: âI love Sylvan Esso and was excited to hear the song through their ears. It came out so good, big and tweaky and fun!â
