Meghan Markle continued her minimalist style streak on Saturday while visiting Colombia with Prince Harry. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been traveling in the South American country since Thursday, marking their first international voyage since their trip to Nigeria earlier this year.
For the third day of their trip, Markle selected an all-white ensemble consisting of a ribbed tank top and a linen maxiskirt. The American Riviera Orchard founder accessorized with a matching Maison Michel hat and Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses, completing her look with t-strap sandals and gold jewelry. Her bijoux included her gold Cartier Love bangle and Juste Un Clou collar, as well as a Tank Française watch that once belonged to Princess Diana.
Markle wore her dark tresses in a ponytail, keeping her makeup minimal.
The Duchess later changed into a black Johanna Ortiz dress featuring rope stripes and a tie-front bodice. She also added on tan Aquazzura sandals and a Cesta Collective woven crossbody, as well as the same Maison Michel hat and Ray-Ban sunglasses.
Prince Harry reportedly gifted Princess Diana’s yellow gold timepiece to his wife, and she was first seen wearing it publicly in 2020. The same model currently retails for upwards of $22,000, though given its historical value, Diana’s watch is likely worth much more. The late Princess of Wales also owned a Cartier Tank with a black leather strap.
The Duchess is a longtime fan of Cartier: she’s owned one of the brand’s signature gold Love bangles ($4,750 and up) since at least 2011, nearly a decade before she married into the royal family. She even wore the brand on her wedding day, selecting a diamond-encrusted bracelet ($150,000) at the ceremony and matching drop earrings ($66,000) for the reception.
Markle also has a Cartier Tank Française of her own, which she purchased years ago while starring in “Suits.” The Duchess’ plans on passing down her yellow gold and steel timepiece, which costs more than $5,000, to her daughter. It also features custom engraving that reads “To M.M. From M.M.”
“I’ve always coveted the Cartier French Tank watch. When I found out ‘Suits’ had been picked up for our third season — which, at the time, felt like such a milestone — I totally splurged and bought the two-tone version,” Markle told Hello! in 2015.
