Harmony (aka Girlpool co-founder Harmony Tividad) has announced her first solo album. The new release, Gossip, is out October 11 via the artistâs own label, Harmonyâs Fantasy Corp. Featured on the album are the singles âThot Daughter,â âMiss America,â and âCoke and Mentos,â as well as a brand new track called âNo Romeo.â The latter track arrives with a video that Harmony directed, styled, and edited. For the visual, she was inspired by Gossip Girl and Baz Luhrmannâs Romeo + Juliet and Moulin Rouge, according to a press release. Watch it below.
Harmony worked on Gossip with producers Bamster, Wyatt Bernard, Ryan Raines, and Model/Actrizâs Ruben Radlauer. âGossip is an exploration of different angles of virtue,â the California musician said in a statement. âI wanted to play with the concept of goodness. You observe so many interesting people living in this world and itâs easy to judge them. Some of the people I characterized I know intimately, some from a distance. Some of the traits live inside me and I exploded them. I wanted to explore shame, parts of myself I think are ugly, shine light and offer compassion to them. Iâve dealt with moral scrupulosity for a lot of my life and Iâve realized the definition of goodness is so different for each person.â
Harmony and her Girlpool co-founder, Avery Tucker, broke up the band in the summer of 2022, not long after the release of final album Forgiveness. The next year, Harmony released her first solo EP, Dystopia Girl.
