5000 Spring 2025 Ready to Wear Runway, Fashion Show & Collection Review

5000’s spring 2025 collection brought a punk ethos to suiting, offering new iterations of classic styles updated with various textures, colors and modern design elements.

Designer Taylor Thompson, who is a CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund nominee, presented the collection at New York’s historic Marble Cemetery, showcasing an array of workwear-meets-suiting looks that gave a modern spin on classic silhouettes.

“My foundation is always going to be in suiting,” he said. “That’s the core of the brand — making sure it’s structured to the body and the collections are all represented there. It’s basically making sure that everything is an elevation, but then being able to push the elevation of the silhouettes and the structures of it all.”

This elevation was seen through Thompson’s inspiration of Mabuhay Gardens, a cornerstone of the West Coast punk scene. There were metallic skirts paired with oversize blazers, reversible bomber jackets, blazers with fine printed asymmetrical sleeves and modern takes on pinstripe.

“It was more so feeling like, how do we communicate the clothing as a very not so fine tailored aspect?” Thompson said about the inspiration. “I want you to feel like you can have a fine tailoring silhouette, but also feel like you can roll around in the mud in it. I want you to feel like you can be in a punk bar in a very fine tailored suit. There’s a lot of funkiness to the silhouettes.”

Thompson’s spring 2025 collection offered bold takes on suiting that were an exciting addition to the men’s fashion world.
