The Oklahoma State Cowboys are on top of the world once again.
Play in the men’s national championship concluded on Wednesday out in Carlsbad and OSU outlasted Virginia in the title match to take it home. The title is number 12 in Oklahoma State’s storied history.
OSU began match play as the fourth overall seed and won the final match, poetically, with four of the five total points. Domination is the appropriate word.
Winning a national championship in golf is a grind like no other. Consider that stroke play began a week ago and the Cowboys had to power through that point to get to match play and then outlast everyone else. They did just that and will go home quite happy as a result of it.
Oklahoma State now has 12 national titles as noted which ties them with Princeton for the third-most all-time. The Houston Cougars are solo in second with 16 and Yale holds quite the lead at 21 total.
The women’s side of things wrapped last week and Northwestern took home the national championship. With that concludes the 2025 collegiate golf season and it was quite the ride down to the finish.
Congratulations to Oklahoma State.
